  • First of all take a micro USB cable, and cut the connector off the cable and leave the cable alone.
  • You have to get the metal bones so you will have to take out the plastic, with a knife or a scissor. Try and get the plastic off till you can have complete access to all the five pins.
  • Every micro USB cable is different. But it wouldn’t really be difficult to locate the pins that you need to use. Identify pin 4 and pin 5 because you have to connect a resistor in between these two pins. On the right of pin 4 you will find pin 5.
  • Now you will need to take the resistors. You will need to solder the wires around the two pins. The pins are very small so you have to be very careful while placing the wires in between the pins.
  • Pin 5 and pin 4 should have been completely soldered by the wires.
  • Now take the 300K Ohms resistor or the 100K Ohms resistor in series and solder them too.
  • Now all you need to do is take the resistor and solder them onto the wires that you have connected to your pins. And if and when it is done successfully, your USB jig is ready.

All this process is hardly going to take ten to twenty minutes and if at all it takes longer, you need not worry. Because many a time’s people take a lot of time in soldering the wires onto the pins and then the resistors onto the wires, so it’s no big deal. The longevity of the wire or the USB jig depends on the way you use it. It is handmade so might be a little weak but can last really long if you can use it carefully. And you can always make a new one if the old one breaks because making it is as simple as mentioned above. In case you want to make it a little better you can always use a little bit of hot glues over the crude wire ends so that it will have a good texture. You can also put it in a case and keep it.

  • Turn the phone off and insert the new USB jig that you have made.
  • And like after 3 seconds the phone will most probably boot itself up to the mode of download, the count would be reset and it would read ‘erasing download information succeeded’. Reboot the phone and see the i9100 splash screen has gone too.
