In this guide check out how to delete WeChat Account and ID completely from your phone/tablet.

Ever since I wrote about ‘how to delete WeChat history’ people have emailed me, commented on the blog post how can we delete WeChat account permanently from their database. So for them I have come up with this article along with the video as well.

Delete WeChat Account

WeChat is popular Instant Messenger which allows to send voice, video and text messages. WeChat is available for popular platforms like iOS, Android, Windows Phone, BlackBerry, Symbian and coming up for Firefox OS/Ubuntu OS.

Surprisingly there is no direct process to completely the WeChat Account or WeChat ID through Apps or website. But if you want to stay away from WeChat you can do it by uninstalling the app by going through Ajustes > Applications > tap on WeChat and then hit Uninstall.Delete WeChat Account

Now this will delete WeChat app from your phone only and this guide works for any iPhone, Android phones and tablets. If you want to delete your mobile number, email ID from the WeChat database, follow the process mentioned below.

You need to send an email to official WeChat support team and to help you with that I have email format ready for you here -

From: Your Wechat Email or Mobile Number
To: [email protected]
CC: [email protected]

These are the details and in the email mention subject & message body as

Email Subject: Account Removal Request and personal information deletion
Message Body: [let them know that you want your account details removed and any reasons why]

Once upon the email is sent, you will receive confirmation email from WeChat team & WeChat team will act accordingly.

Update: We have received lot many comments on our Videos and as well as article here. WeChat is troubling a lot of people in terms of deleting their account. Some of the people’s account hasn’t been deleted. I hope WeChat representatives is keeping any eye on this page.

Important: You can’t delete WeChat if it has come up pre-installed on your device. You can disable it by going through Settings > Apps > WeChat and then tap on Disable for Android and something similar for iOS devices.

    This service is a total scam. I never get any feedback that suggests my account will be deleted. I will never trust these kinds of services again. Probably it is the same with WhatsApp.
    I have sent two emails using the method as mentioned; still no success. Why? I wonder.
    Honestly, this policy of this company really is very stupid I think. They think they can be popular and not give a care to people’s need of their account to be deleted.

    I am Muhammad Aamir Islam from Pakistan .
    My contact numner is +923345855142
    I verified this number on wechat and used wechat …
    there was a problem with my password so I selected “forgot password ” and verified this number again and logged in successfully ….
    now when I do like this, it gives me an error.
    verification error (4,-123)
    and it is not verifying and not logging in…
    Then I registered through email and tried to connect it with contact number but it does not verify it….. it gives the same error .

    I want to verify my contact number again….
    Please help me, its urgent.

    hey, I’ve already send to them,it doesn’t work..I didn’t receive any confirmation email..how is it,anybody help me please. Is that real we can delete our WeChat account through this thing?

    sent an email, and they replied saying it cannot be deleted.

    Thanks for your suggestions. WeChat accounts cannot be deleted in the current version but we will consider this function for future releases.
    You can recover a lost password by clicking the “Can’t access your account” on the Log In screen of the app via a linked mobile phone number, QQ ID or email. You cannot retrieve your password if it is not linked to any other accounts.
    Each account you register is independent; for example, an old account will not affect the use of a new one.
    WeChat respects user privacy and protects user information. We do not disclose any user information.
