Yellowstone national park is known to be the world’s first national park since 1872. The national park is in Wyoming State in the USA and extends to Idaho and Montana states. The park is so vast that it is spread from Montana to Idaho in America. It was a place of Native Americans for at least 11000 years and it’s currently popular for its geothermal features.

Yellowstone National Park has a total area of 8982 sq/km. Many tourists visit the park to enjoy the flora and fauna, various species of wildlife, lakes, rivers, mountain ranges, and a subalpine forest known for various ecosystems. The national park has innumerable geothermal features, mainly Old Faithful Geyser which is the most remarkable tourist attraction.

Old Faithful is basically a cone geyser in the park and it derived the name during the Washburn-Langford-Doane Expedition in 1870.

This geyser gets erupted every 35 to 120 minutes shooting nothing less than 14,000 liters of water to a height of 106 to 185 feet high. It lasts from 1.5 to five minutes. Steamboat Geysers in the Norris Geyser Basin are part of Yellowstone US National Park.

Yellowstone Lake without any doubt is the largest water body in the park covering an area of 350 square kilometers. In winter from December last week, the lake freezes with ice nearly 3 feet thick and remains frozen until May or June.

  5. It has the largest lake in North America with a high elevation.
  6. It has 1000 thermal features and more than 300 geysers are available here.
  7. It has 290 waterfalls and 12 campgrounds and 2000 campsites.

The ecosystem of the national park is so natural that fish, reptiles, and mammal species are inherited in its forests and lakes. It is a megafauna location. Tourists enjoy camping, hiking, fishing, boating, picnicking, snowmobiles, and sightseeing.

The paved roads are provided although for visitors who can stop and see the spectacular sights, landscapes, and spots of their liking. The tourist can reach by commercial airlines from the places Cody n Jacksons, Bozeman, and Billings. The most suitable time to visit the national park is from March to May and from September to November.
