Lal Bagh Palace is a famous palace in Indore. It is the largest monument made by Holkar dynasty. Lal Bagh Palace was constructed by Shivaji Rao Holkar in the year between 1886 and 1921. It is a three Storey building, towards the southwest and is situated almost in the center of Indore city on the bank of the River Khan and also a mark of royalty.

LalBagh reflects the taste and lifestyle of the Holkar leaders. Originally, the structure of this palace was carried out in three phases, the phase-1 was started in the year 1886 below Tukoji Holkar II and the III phase was done in the year 1921 under the guidance of Tukoji Holkar III then finally a beautiful and stylish building was completed. It is one of the newest and unique monuments in India.
On the ground floor, the entry hall is made up of marbles. On the first floor, there is a fine and huge collection of coins which meeting back to Muslims period and also there is an exhibition of paintings and monuments. The internal area of the palace conveys the guests to the historic period and the area of the ballroom of this palace is made of a wooden floor which is mounted on the spirals.
On the opposite side of the River Khan, a kitchen was built and it is connected to a well brighter tunnel. And all the gates of this palace were patterned in iron and look like Buckingham Palace in London. The scary gates are exclusive in Asia. Rooms of the palace are furnished with attractive carvings on the top walls and the side walls so; it is turned into a museum. The viewpoint of this palace is highly westernized.
The design and lavish ornament, brief fairies on the top, Italian marble feature, Italian style wall image, luxurious chandeliers, well Persian floor covering, Belgium marked glass windows, and Greek fabulous relief gives the best world experience to the visitors.
In this palace, the final resident was Tukoji Holkar III till 1978. It is a cultural center which is developing by the Madhya Pradesh government. The total area of the entire complex is of 28 acres and posse rose garden. This rose garden is one of the best gardens in the country. Laal Bagh Palace is open for tourist from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM. The architecture of this palace is quite similar to the new palace.
